Iranian short film “Suitcase” wins best script award at Parma International Music Film Festival

TEHRAN-The Iranian short film “Suitcase” written and directed by Ako Zand-Karimi and Saman Hosseinpour won an award at the 11th Parma International Music Film Festival in Italy.

Competing in the short film section of the festival, which was held in Parma from September 18 to 23, the movie won the best script award of the section, ILNA reported on Monday.

A production of 2023, the 15-minute flick is about a Kurdish refugee who lives in his suitcase far from his own homeland. In it he carries memories of his family. When someone steals the suitcase in the tumult of the foreign city center, he loses his home a second time.

Meysam Damanzeh, Rezvan Khodami, Elena Sahami and Ava Moslem-Khani are in the cast of the short work.

Parma International Music Film Festival is a meeting place for the presentation and promotion of feature films, short films and documentaries of all nationalities, genres and durations, which are based on a good soundtrack.

The purpose of the event is not only pointing out to the audience recent and important films, but also underlining the value of a musical score as an essential element for the success of a movie.

“Suitcase” is the fourth work jointly made by Zand-Karimi and Hosseinpour. In its first international presence, it was screened at the International Student Competition section of the 46th Drama International Short Film Festival in Greece, held from September 4 to 10.

Last week, it received the Audience Award at Kobani International Film Festival in Germany.
